Problem with the GE FXSVC Water Filters
Submitted 05-08-18
clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I have been purchasing theses filters for years. The new filters DO NOT FIT !!Our Water Filtration System is GXSV10C and the FXSVC states that it is the replacement set for this system. However, the recess on the end is not is not as deep as the previous filters purchased with the same model number. This is apparently preventing the filters from seating properly in the casing. Are you aware of this problem and what do you suggest ?????
Package instructions filter placement still wrong!

If you look at my review from 5 years a go, youÕll see the filter placement positions are still being debated, and the information on the packaging is still incorrect and has not been changed after all this time. I received a new 2 filter pack today (4-12-2018). Attached is a photo of the label, stating to put the ÒgreenÓ filter on the LEFT side, which is the water inlet side, but if you read all the CS comments on this site, you are told that the ÒgreyÓ filter goes on the left/inlet side. Most consumers are going to read this package, and put them in BACKWARDS, and would have no reason to believe they did it wrong, or think they would have to come here, to research this seemingly simple task. Why is it so hard to change the package instructions to reflect the proper installation of the filters?GREY FILTER on LEFT - water INGREEN FILTER on RIGHT - water OUT
Confusing instructions

Every six months when I replace these filters I see GE's confusing instructions as to which filter goes where. They talk of trading out one filter after six months....Bottom line is grey cap filter gets incoming water, green cap filter is second stage. Not sure why GE cannot write clear, correct instructions. They charge plenty of money for these filters.
Minus15 points for this filters

I was using FXSVC filters since 2002. About a month ago I bought a TDS meter that shows water purity from 0 to 999. My water before filtration - 124, and after filtration - 139 to 142 depending on how long it was running. I made sure that my meter is working correctly. My son's water in Sarasota FL is 278 and my daughter's water after reverse osmosis is 12. Now I'm looking for solid block carbon filter that'll fit my system and hope I'll get that number down to 50.
