I wanted these pedestals so badly. They created more space for things but also made the washer and dryer look better. I had no problems with the LG I had previously so I didn’t research much. When they arrived, these lasted three weeks (maybe) and one began to be finicky when opening and closing. Now it won’t close at all. I have called, been transferred to many different places and still no help to get this fixed. Except ordering a new one. I hope someone is smarter than we were and reads the reviews. Do NOT waste your money.
Just terrible

Like many other reviews, initially we enjoyed the pedestal. However, despite following the instructions to not put more than 50 pounds in the pedestal, we found after a month or so the plastic was sagging making the drawer extremely hard to open. I'm afraid that sooner or later it's just going to break. What a hunk of junk. We've owned it less than 6 months.
Cheap. Plastic. Junk.

My wife and I purchased a new GE washer & dryer set ("Good Housekeeping Seal approved!) and were excited to find matching, same brand, "bottle height" storage drawer pedestals to set the units on. Well, our excitement turned to dismay as the plastic drawers sag and drag against the pedestal frame due to severe bowing after just a couple months use. While the drawer has an large embossed warning "Do not exceed 50 lbs" I hardly think that one bottle of liquid detergent, one bottle of fabric softener and one bottle of bleach should make these plastic drawers bow and sag as they do. The "clicking" noise when the drawer opens from sagging against the frame member is SO ANNOYING and the plastic now has a permanent memory sag. It's a shame we can't get quality product from this huge name brand!
$250 and broken in less than two months...

Purchased and installed less than two months ago, the drawer always felt a little on the wobbly side. It has now dropped some ball-bearings and jammed. Definitely not worth anything like $250. Not even sure I can register it for service as once installed, how am I supposed to find the serial number?
$250 For a Drawer That Doesn’t Work

Like so many other commenters here, we shelled out the $250 each for pedestals, and I was underwhelmed from the first day. I have never seen such cheap construction for the money: you are paying for some sheet metal, a molded plastic liner, and what have to be the cheapest drawer slides on the market (I’ve seen better slides on $50 Box Store cabinets) Less than a year after purchasing and storing nothing more than some rags, the slides have jammed and the drawer won’t open. The pedestal is useless for storage - it is as functional as a painted cinder block. To add insult to monetary injury, GE doesn’t stand by their products and won’t warranty this. That should have been a red flag from the beginning. I thought that, with the high price tag and GE name that we’d be getting a quality product. Surely a metal box with a drawer can’t be hard to make, but if they’re cutting corners on this, imagine what gets cheaped out on the actual washer and dryer. Unless GE can rectify this, this broken pedestal will be the last GE products we buy.
