We seldom use our fridge ice, only filter use, but all the more reason to have a quality filter. We have been using these filters for 16 years without any issues.

I have been buying these filters for years, sticking with the GE brand name part. This time the filter sent was defective, causing water to leak and the refrigerator to make noise. GE jerked me around when I called, they had a repair man visit who confirmed what I knew - the filter was defective, He didn’t have a filter on the truck, so back to the phone to process the defective replacement. What a hassle. Need better quality on the parts.

The shoulders inside the filter are shorter than earlier iterations. The latest filter won’t fully actuate the water valve. I added some o-rings to make up the difference and got it to work. The latest are labeled GSWF but have MSWF in the description.
