You pull the drawer open as you transfer the wash into the dryer. If anything falls it winds up in the basket instead of on the floor. Great design.

I bought the washer/dryer set from Costco but for some reason I couldnt get the pedestals that go along with them so I came here and got them directly from LG. They are steady sturdy and heavy. Setting them up was fairly easy except I did need help from others because the washer/dryer are so heavy I couldnt lift them myself. The installers didnt want to help because I didnt buy the pedestals from Costco but that is a separate story. Hear me now if you are going to get front load machines then I would strongly advise getting pedestals. You get storage for stuff and more importantly you dont need to bend down as much to load and unload the machines. If you are on the shorter side maybe that is not an issue for you but it is for me. These units are very nice and as I said earlier strong and sturdy. I like the extra storage they afford as well. Do yourself a favor and splurge on a set of pedestals.
